Kanye Leads in BET Award Nominations; Samuel L. Jackson Will Serve as Host

Kanye West is leading the pack on BET Award nominations this year.  The controversial, yet talented, artist hauled in seven nominations.  Jay-Z earned five nominations and Beyonce has six.

Much of the hoopla came from the “Watch the Throne” project that the two collaborated on together.  Their songs “Niggaz in Paris,” and “Otis” were nominated for video of the year.  Beyonce received two nominations for video of the year with her songs, “Love on Top,” and “Countdown.”

The awards show is set to take place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.  Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj are going to perform, with Samuel L. Jackson hosting.

Maze featuring Frankie Beverly will receive a lifetime achievement award.
