Aside from revealing that he and Kim Kardashian are expecting their first child together, Kanye wanted to make sure he reassured fans that he’s not as “crazy” or “deranged” as the media portrays him to be… He told fans: “I’m not crazy. I’m just not satisfied.” He vowed to continue to be a pure artist and deliver the most artistic crafts he can to his fans.
Later on he reverted to the Kanye that the media talking about and decided to rant and rave about the lack of Grammy nominations he received for the 2013 Grammy Awards. Here’s what he said to his fans: “How many Grammys do we have? … Eighteen Grammys. All in the black categories, though. But nonetheless, 18. I love Maroon 5, but when I lost Best New Artist to Maroon 5 … you know what I mean? Or when ‘Watch the Throne’ and ‘Dark Fantasy,’ neither of them got nominated for Album of the Year, you know what I mean? Or when ‘N*ggas in Paris’ didn’t get nominated for Record of the Year, you know what I mean? So don’t expect to see me at the Grammys this year, you know what I mean?!“
Kanye isn’t the first hip-hop artist to shun the Recording Academy’s alleged lack of interest in awarding hip-hop artists. Over the years, the Academy has been slammed by hip-hop and R&B artist such as, Jill Scott, Miguel, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, etc.
